very true

But its music and you can compare anything.

Okay.

You can compare anything, but that doesn’t make one better than the other. It just means they’re both fabulous, only in very different ways. They’re two different sound experiences, man.

Rock!

This one is for the old new who the best musicians are.

dogfish / 2008-03-27 03:50:21

That's an unfair question!

Pink Floyd & The Beatles are so different that comparing them against each other would never be a fair judging. I love them both. For different reasons.

manditron / 2008-04-01 20:19:28

WHo is better?

Pink Floyd or the Beatles?

dogfish / 2008-03-27 03:53:24

srini faceoff re-re-re-mix!

but how does

Revolver compare to abbey road?

or

piper at the gates of dawn to the wall?

or

dark side of the moon to rubber soul?

or

white album to sgt pepper?

hmmm? betcha didn’t think about that!

brenly / 2008-07-16 09:59:15

album to album faceoff

piper at the gates of dawn is so much better than sgt pepper

and

dark side of the moon is better than abbey road

however

white album vs the wall – advantage beatles

and

revolver and rubber soul are better than animals and wish you were here

very very close

sonicsrini / 2008-04-02 00:05:51

Wow

Srini, gotta say I’m going the opposite way on your first three here:

  • Sgt Pepper beats Piper
  • Abbey Road beats Dark Side
  • White Album and Wall – hmm, that’s a tie.
  • Revolver and Rubber Soul are both great albums, but inconsistent – I think Animals and Wish You Were Here are more complete works in terms of consistent quality throughout.

However, you didn’t even mention More or Obscured by Clouds! I love that soundtrack stuff that Floyd did that tends to get overlooked – ‘Mudmen,’ ‘Cirrus Minor,’ ‘The Gold, It’s in the…,’ ‘Wot’s, uh, the Deal,’ etc…
