this was a super good program
general eric shinseki told the truth.
it pissed wolfowitz off.
at one point tenet raised objections.
he didn’t let Bush cite curveball’s evidence in one speech
but later on he relented.
it is clear that cheney wanted war no matter what the intelligence said.
condoleeza rice was part of it – she nodded and said that there was a preponderance of intelligence when there was nothing.
tenet heard the meager evidence and said that there could be no doubt.
“curveball” was the source of all the intelligence, and curveball was Ahmed Chalabi.
curveball merely claimed that he as a graduate student was “working on” this trailer which was a mobile bioweapons factory.
curveball lying about this was not questioned.
colin powell was disliked for being a diplomat
ironic seeing as he was the #1 hawk during Gulf War I
tenet’s guidance made powell lie at the UN, presenting Chalabi’s evidence as truth

the media was a big part of the rush to war
the new york times article cited one of curveball’s assertions
then cheney and rice cited the new york times article.
this gave their lies credibility.
