explain the idea behind circles cause me and manditron just dont get it.

I would love to use circles more. however, i cant figure out what most of the spaces are about. i go in, i read the few notes, and its like trying to read a dead language. I think each space would have more interaction if there was a description/introduction. Like, this is about So-&-So, or this is a place to discuss what you think being human is about, or Share you feelings about this topic…the spaces titles arent always enough of a description.

I was wondering what this note chatting is all about and how it works? i hope that this sight will take off for you guys.

• Get friends over here to increase the population
• Use the circles (I honestly don’t know what to post in a lot of them, but I’ll get my ass in gear and Make It Work)
• Think of alternate uses for spaces so people with different needs can still find this place as useful as I do
  • I’ve already got Wiki-replacement and chatting space down. What about blogging? I know a lot of people on LJ are ready to jump ship. Would you be averse to having a whole mess of fandom kids hanging out here?

so I tried out MetaNotes in IE and it hurt my soul a little to open up internet explorer, but I did it for you. haha.

roadtrips are fantastic! you can meet almost all of the metanotes heroes in one trip!

ETA: Just checked a few things and saw the bit about recording traffic. Reminds me of the stalker feature on OK Cupid where you get to see who’s viewed your profile. It also has an option where you can browse without being recorded, but then you won’t be able to see who’s seen you.

we needing more people with less to do in their real lives so I have more people to play with on this site! I guess once the ball gets rolling on this site, I’ve tried to invite random smart people but no-one seems to want to play smart/schizostupid talk with me.

all the stuff you sent to Manditron is quite handy, Prescott will be coated in Metanotes stickers in no time at all.

the first half is showing the whole moving notes together and partially against my will the second is me trying to show that the notes tab is taking you to spaces where there are no notes or at least not the one you clicked on and those notes that it doesn’t take you to are nowhere to be found on the page. Sorry i couldn’t get any of them flying off the page without my moving them but that ones been known to occur.

I don’t know why, but I can’t move notes on my page. It won’t let me, and is just generally spazzing out. Also, I was attempting to make a new space and it freaked then, too. Help?

Do you have plans to allow notes and/or spaces to be set private? That would be AWESOME.

Hi! Could I make a suggestion on the menus? When you hover over your name (when logged in) have the space names automatically come up. along with the log out option. it could reduce some of the effort! thx!

it’s still spazzing a little bit. It’ll let me move notes after refreshing the page a few time….but it refuses to let me delete them.

it would be nice if you could lock notes so that other people cant change of delete them so you feel safe using medanotes for school and projects like that.

I started a club on facebook to maybe get things going. i think everyone that has a metanotes needs to spreed the word. i have been telling my friends about it and they are looking in to using it but everyone is cought up in the mind of facebook and myspace. we need to find a way to show them that metanotes is better than both of those because it is. If i think of anything that would really help out i will let you no but i have been trying to get more people to join.

So you can almost chat with people and really drive them crazy now.

I’m pretty convinced that this place needs to find a way to appeal to people who use internet explorer as much as its a terrible way to go most people use it and are like afraid of other stuff i have soooo many friends who either disliked the site or wouldn’t try it due to the whole IE incompatibility thing.

In order for us to engage each other we need to be more visible to each other. Maybe a common “Public” space that is automatically put in our spaces list.

Also in order for us to be more active with each other the base social feature of “friending” or “connecting” should be implemented.

Finally, the “list” sections of the site need some work. I feel that simply including a thumbnail (maybe by tagging a picture note on your profile page a certain way will make it your default pic) will go a long way in getting us to interact a bit more. The tagging should also be more visible, and actually work (I haven’t been able to tag notes), I should be able to quickly and easily see the tags for a space/note.

One last thing is I think we should be able to have Private spaces that others can’t look at, this should be implemented ASAP.

At this point, I think I would probably just end up linking to it on as many people’s spaces as I could. Maybe something better could be worked out but I’m no good at computer things so…haha

I like writing and arguing. Even agreeing with others is ok once in a while. I’m having trouble starting dialogues. I was thinking… Maybe if people could open note withing notes. Sort of a different form of a blog tree. It would be a more graphic representation of what is done in blogs already.

I wasn’t sure if you note in my inbox was in reply to a specific note I left somewhere so I thought I would gather some of my thoughts, some of which left in beppu’s inbox, here for you. I apologize if I’m reiterating anything that has already been thought of.

Relationships between notes.

If someone is leaving me a note in my inbox that is a reply to a note somewhere else, the originating note should be referenced. Other ideas in this same vein of thought are Comments and Simple Links/References. My initial thoughts on actual implementation is give each note a unique url. For example this note could be http://www.metanotes.com/sonicsrini/inbox#id=20080317222659;rel=link;

I could probably keep running with this but I’ll stop here for now.

I want an API

I plan on using this site a lot in the future and see many possibilities and I’m sure others do too. At the very least I’d like to have a quick and easy way to post a note using a desktop or mobile app.

Widgets

I know this is currently achievable by just posting the html for a simple widget, but this is insecure. I would probably limit note input to textile, or even allow a choice between textile and other simple markup languages, and implement a widget system of some sort. Being that this site seems social in nature (the ability to, dare I say, “friend” someone is something I would like to see as well) I was thinking that becoming an Open Social container would be an obvious choice.

Content Pushing

Ability to push note content into specific sections or content areas of other social sites. ie. My Profile Space “Music” note content being pushed into Facebook/Myspace Music content area. Other thoughts are to push notes to Twitter/Pownce.

I love the site and hope to see great things in the future.

I feel like I have been holding my breath for 2 or 3 weeks now; today, I finally came up for air. I apologize for my inactivity.

4. Internet is so essential to life today. It is interesting to think that I practically have fallen behind on life just because I haven’t had internet since June 21st.

Things are going well here. We put MetaNotes stickers everywhere, and I feel like I’m almost trying to sell it to most people that I meet.
