If we have an Inbox, ...

...maybe we should have an Outbox as well.

I think we’ve talked about this before.

Whenever you leave a note on someone else’s space, a copy of that note would go into your Outbox.

What’s unforunate is that the way I have things set up, a note may only appear in one space at a time. It’s going to be shitty to have to sync the note in your Outbox w/ the note you left in someone else’s space.

One way around this is to explicitly add a field called outbox_id whose value could be:

• NULL—when you make a note in your own space
• Your Outbox’s workspace_id—when you make a note in someone else’s space.

By having note.outbox_id, A note would be able to simultaneously exist in an arbitrary workspace and optionally your Outbox.

But then what am I going to do about (x,y) coordinates? I don’t want to have to make more fields like outbox_x and outbox_y. That’d be ugly.

I wish I was less tired than I am right now, and was able to post something more witty and interesting (as a part time techno-hermit, being virtually witty and interesting is part of my “justification toolkit”)... but it likely won’t happen today.

I haven’t seen anything quite like this.. I see some reference to “twitter”, but that is something I have never checked out or would be interested in, mostly because of it’s name. It will be cool to see what users form the concept into…

First, let me say that I’m trying very hard not to fangirl at you. That’d be weird.

As for explaining MetaNotes, I’m not really sure (yeah, great help I am). I’ve been pimping it as a more visually based wiki? Kind of? That might be just because I’m better at remembering notes when they can occupy a kind of map-space. Like flow charts. (???)

That probably makes no sense, but I love this place anyway. Thank you so much for it.
