Little India is one of the most historic areas in Singapore that shows off some of the best collections from Singapore’s Indian community. The place where Little India is located today was once a Race Course. It is one of Singapore’s most vibrant district and as you walk down the street, you will explore a mix of Hindu and Chinese Temples as well as mosques and churches. If you are a foodie, you can treat yourself with south Indian vegetarian food and the north Indian tandoori dishes.
Make sure to visit the Banana Leaf Restaurant, which is quite famous for its South Indian Food. Another popular restaurant is Zsofi, which is basically a Spanish themed restaurant and offers only alcoholic drinks.
The 24-hour shopping mall Mustafa Centre offers some of the best deals on Electronics and Groceries. It is believed that products here are priced at comparatively lower prices compared to market rates outside. If you lucky enough and visit the place during Diwali you can grab on the some products at almost half the price. The place is completely lit with lights and is just beautiful to watch during the night. Since Little India was the last place to visit on my trip to Singapore, I wanted to make the best out of my time here. To my surprise Little India was not just a shopping district but also a major Bus boarding and departure time.
I had booked my tickets through from https://www.redbus.sg/bus-tickets/kuala-lumpur-to-little-india and the pickup place mentioned was Little India. Since I booked my tickets at the last minute, I got a Bus that was supposed to depart at 10:00 pm in the night. Being a night traveller, I was quite happy, as I would have a peaceful journey without encountering any traffic.
There were about 3 Operators plying on this route which were Luxury Coach, the One Travel and Tours and Konsortium Express. Luxury Coach had only one bus plying throughout the entire day, which was departing at 7:30 am in the morning. The duration of the journey between the two cities is about 6 hours but it would definitely increase if you depart at this time in the morning. The cost of the tickets started at SGD25 and went up all the way to SGD80. The buses from Operator Luxury Coach were priced on a little higher price but it was definitely worth it looking at the amenities that the Operator had to offer. Another Operator was Konsortium Express that had about 2 buses plying throughout the entire day. One was at 10:00 am in the morning and the other at 4:00 pm in the afternoon. The tickets were reasonably priced at SGD35. The One Travel and Tours was the only Operator that had a Bus plying in the night at 10:00 pm. The Bus was relatively empty and I had a comfortable journey. The tickets were priced at SGD45 and the Bus was equipped with all modern and basic amenities.
