things it needs - first run

  • registration and login via fb etc working
  • notifications - you get an email and in-app notification (ideally on your mobile too, after we have a Metanotes app) if I type in the string @username and that's your username
  • login screen/metapage - you can see all of your pages, how many notes on them, date created and last updated etc
  • note chat possible, sharing etc
  • tangents and arctangents working
  • better color picker in the note-setting dialog

OMMWRITER

I'm basically typing long things in OMMWRITER and then pasting them into Metanotes for later review and storage.

OMMWRITER mode for note typing would therefore be greatly appreciated.

POWER GRAMMAR

The most magical things in life are the result of the application of the most basic principles. The most basic principles are UNIVERSAL which is why a magician can count on them to work on anyone, all the time. If magic is often based on misdirection, then if you are being direct, you aren't being as magical as you can be. Grammar is a tool for misdirection because your attention can be pushed to the side by the grammatic structure of a sentence so that a command can slide in the opening without being noticed "as a command". And nobody likes to be commanded, ever. A lack of grammar is the reason people aren't doing your bidding every time you tell them. One basic type of grammar is the QUESTION.

This can be FUN

Last few times, too many spex, not enough prioritisation. I want this to be fun to create and improve. So I have to make sure the spex are inherently fun and interesting. I'm not sure how to do that yet, however my intentions are good.

My intuition is that if you write spex that are inherently FUN, then the code will be much easier for the coder to implement.

how to write spex that are inherently FUN??

Est-ce que?

I remember when I learned French in junior high school. You had to put this phrase "Est-ce que..." before your non-question sentence. That was the gist of it. There was a different type of question which involved inverting the verb and the subject. Nevertheless, simply adding the phrase "Est-ce que..." before the sentence, and then asking it as a question (meaning, your intonation should "rise" at the end of the question so as to indicate to the listener that it's a question)... that was all you had to do, according to my teacher.

"Est-ce que..." translates to "Is it that...?"

So, for example, "I am writing a book on grammar" would thus be transformed into "Is it that I am writing a book on grammar?"

Or, "You are smart and good-looking" turns into a question with this trick: "Is it that you are smart and good-looking?"

This is interesting to me. That's how easy it is to turn a statement into a question. And a question, as the question-mark at the end of the sentence would visually indicate, is a HOOK.

Questions get responses. Statements can get ignored. At the same time people who ask too many questions are annoying and get avoided. Asking a question can come across as a weakness. So don't overdo it, instead use questions sparingly because they're important.
