Melaka to Kuala Lumpur by bus

After a weeklong stay in Melaka it was time for me to head to my next destination, which was the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia and is located in the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The best time to visit this city is between the months of December to February and May to August. The best part about this popular city is that it is completely multi cultured. As you walk along side the road you will see beautiful sky scrapers on one side and shopping malls on the other. The city also has one of the best and happening night life of Asia. It is considered to be an enclave within the state of Selamgor. Apart from its night life the city is also quite famous for its street food which is basically a mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian Cuisine. Apart from this the Thai and the Arabian food is what makes it more special. The use of spices and ingredients that are used is completely mind blowing. One thing that I realise while staying in Kuala Lumpur was that the city is completely different in terms of night life and shopping. By 10:00 pm the night life of this city transitions into action and that is how it remains till wee hours of the morning.

If you are a a shopaholic make sure to visit malls like Pavilion and Suria Klcc. The local people here are quite helpful if you ask for any kind of help. However, it being a 24/7 city do not expect a lot of cleanliness and serenity here. You can also visit Genting Highland which is a hill resort at a height of more than 5000 feet. All places within the city are well connected by buses and trains. However, if you want to explore the city till its roots make sure to travel by Bus. The best places to stay in Kuala Lumpur are at Bukit Bintang, which is located at the city centre. You can check into hotels like Mandarin Oriental and Grand Hyatt. Based on my previous experience I chose to book my bus tickets through https://www.redbus.my/bus-tickets/malacca-to-kuala-lumpur, which was completely hassle free. Since most people do not travel from Melaka to Kuala Lumpur there was only one Operator plying on this route. The duration of the journey is about 2 hours if you plan to travel during the non peak hours. Since the distance between Melaka and Kuala Lumpur is quite less there are no luxury coach operators on this route. Trans Nasional was the only executive coach operator with ticket prices starting upwards of MYR13. The first bus with Trans Nasional leaves at 11:35 am followed by the next one at 5:45 pm and the last one leaves at 11:45 pm. Since I choose to travel mostly during the nights I booked my tickets on the 11:45 pm Bus and found my journey quite comfortable at this time.
